American Sentinel University was established in 2006 and is accredited by the Distance Education & Training Council (DETC), the only organization for accrediting distance education recognized by the U. S. Department of Education. Online nursing degrees at American Sentinel are accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a national accreditation agency recognized by the U.
